Sun City West woman's death spurred positive changes in hot-weather electricity cutoffs
Agreement stops utility from disconnecting customers on hottest days of the year

Jonathan Korman, whose 82-year-old mother Kate Korman died in her Sun City West home in May 2024 after her power was disconnected by Arizona Public Service Co. when she fell behind on her bills, said the changes APS is making are good, but said he would imagine those are the minimal commonsense requirements for a utility in a position where people are depending on them for survival.
