Resources about the power company that killed our mother. The organizers were the first to tell us that our mother’s death was part of a pattern; they have been immensely helpful in getting her story told.

Associated Press: An Arizona woman died after her power was cut over a $51 debt

Stacey Champion speaking to a City of Phoenix policy meeting

The city of Phoenix continues to fail its most vulnerable residents with yet another vapid plan, while continuing to say there were less heat deaths last year, so what they're doing “must be working.” Heat deaths are and have been historically undercounted, and Maricopa County continues to obfuscate and drip drip drip me my public records requests. Here's the link to the NYTimes story I reference in my comments -6https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/23/us.... And here is the fill in the blank form that every county across our country could be using to gather better/more meaningful data on heat deaths broadly — https://www.cdc.gov/disaster-epidemio....

Heat is known as the "silent killer" for a reason, and kills more people than all other weather-related events combined. This city, county & state like to regularly publicly pat themselves on the back, while those of us who are paying attention have watched the death numbers skyrocket over the past decade.

About the evidently corrupt regulators who have been asleep at the switch.

Utility CEOs get raises

“Other utilities where CEO compensation increased [⋯ include] Pinnacle West headquartered in Phoenix (increased $1,652,116)”. The CEO of the power company that killed our mother didn’t make the top ten list for raises last year.

Pity.
